The goal of this project was to build a 4,000 square-foot home that is perfect for entertaining, with a modern aesthetic and open floor plan. A creative collaboration of ideas, By Request’s Ken and Rick designed the house with friends. To keep to a tight build timeline, they developed a critical path and met every day with Litchfield County contractors. The end result features hand-chiseled stone from the property used on the exterior of the home and inside fireplace as well as the property stone used for all retaining walls. Designer lighting, high-end materials and finishes, customized cabinetry and woodwork bring this house to life. A stunning 15x15 foot wall of windows and doors by Tischler articulate the front of the house, giving way to expansive views of the lake. Extensively landscaped, By Request sourced and brought in matures trees, as high as a 24-foot Fraser fir, to give the property a natural and established look.
