tinker hill addition

After fully renovating their home, By Request’s Ken and Rick sold it to a new owner who was so impressed with their conceptual drawings for a master bedroom and ensuite bathroom addition that she asked them to manage the project. As local bylaws prohibited building an addition on top of the house, the 800-square foot addition was built behind, up a level on a gorgeous rock ledge. There’s now a breathtaking glass-enclosed space with spiral staircase that leads to the new bedroom haven. By Request supervised all contractors and managed the construction of the addition. They also designed the landscape and oversaw the installation of the irrigation system. The landscape design includes shade plants, like Solomon’s seal as well as astilbe, bleeding hearts and native ferns. The new owner can soak in the freestanding bathtub, in complete privacy, surrounded by lush vegetation.

”By Request was a dream to work with. Basically I “concierged” building my house on the lake. The project – which was challenging, since we had to build one part of the house in the rocks and on top of it – went so smoothly, I never had to stress. Any problems were addressed in a very calm way and resolved so professionally. I could have the fun part, choosing the looks having been presented with options. All was done within the time frame we had discussed. The result is my dream house. I am so happy to wake up here looking at the lake and wonderful landscaping they worked on. By Request continues to look after all my maintenances, I can just be relaxed and enjoy my time here. I wish I had known them before!“
